Meet the Beeley Hawley & Co Team
Beeley Hawley has a strong team with a valuable range of skills
and experience, supported by an administration team which enables
us to provide a high level of day to day support and
assistance.
Ray Callingham BA FCA - Director
Ray qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989, with Stoy
Hayward (now Tenon). He has over 25 years experience working in
both national and local practice, and provides day to day support
to several clients in a role liaising closely with the Board of
Directors and senior management. He is also Beeley Hawley's audit
partner, controlling our audit department and covering both formal
statutory audits and government grant audits.
Ray also specialises in business planning and development,
dealing extensively with family tax and business matters. He
has a wide range of clients throughout his general portfolio. He
also draws on substantial experience of the charity and not for
profit educational sectors, including school academies.
Graham Beeley MSc FCA CTA - Director
Graham qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2001 and as a
Chartered Tax Adviser in 2004. He has a wide portfolio of audit and
general clients in a number of sectors including farming,
construction, consultancies, trade organisations, financial
services, medical and food. He deals with accounts, audit, company
valuations, business plans and forecasts, forensic work, and a wide
variety of tax work including personal, corporate, trusts and
estates. Whilst he retains a general portfolio, Graham specialises
in tax matters and advises extensively over the full range of tax
matters. Over recent years he has advised, often proactively, on
issues as diverse as corporate structures, research and development
tax credit claims, EIS, inheritance tax including the use of
trusts, VAT, tax credits and non resident tax issues.
Richard Shaw BSc ACCA - Manager
Richard has been with Beeley Hawley for fifteen years and works
with businesses from many sectors in Mansfield and throughout
Nottinghamshire. Richard has particular skills and expertise to
offer to charity and "not for profit organisations", handles the
affairs of a number of schools, charities, businesses and
individuals, also dealing with grant and company audit work. He is
Beeley Hawley's business start up contact. Richard also manages the
payroll and book keeping department.
Michael Beeley FCA - Founder Member & Consultant
Michael qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1965 and has been
in general practice ever since. He has valuable expertise and
experience in the fields of taxation and financial planning for
small and medium size businesses. He is now semi retired and
continues to service long standing clients at the office.
Support Staff and Office Administration Team
Assisting with accounts preparation are Kim, Emma, Carol, Matt,
Zach, Joanne, Phil and Rose who are among the
valuable support team that provide the foundation for our
general servicing of accounts preparation, book keeping, VAT
returns and payroll service.
The front office staff of Tracy, Wendy and Anne work
closely together to provide the solid background of day to day
administration which makes Beeley Hawley such a dependable
operation.
Our support team is highly experienced and able to respond
quickly to deal with our clients' enquiries.
History of Beeley Hawley & Co Ltd
Beeley Hawley & Co was formed in 1972 as a partnership
between Michael Beeley and Michael Hawley. As the practice and team
have grown the business became incorporated in 2003. The practice
has built up its reputation through striving to provide a good
solid service. Of primary importance to its growth over the years
has been recommendations from its existing clients and connections.
Ray Callingham joined the practice in 1990 from a major Nottingham
firm and became a partner in 1996. Graham Beeley joined as a
director in 2006 after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2002
and Chartered Tax Adviser in 2004. Our main office is based in
Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. To compliment the firm in
2001 we took over a practice in Southwell, Nottinghamshire,
which has also expanded taking on clients in and around the Newark
area.
Michael Hawley BSc FCA - Founder Member
Mike is an active member of the Council of the Institute of
Chartered Accountants for England & Wales and various other
committees and until retirement was a senior lecturer in Accounting
having previously been acting head of department at Nottingham
Trent University. He is currently treasurer of the Sir John
Eastwood Hospice and is active on various other local committees
and charities.
